RESEARCHED BY PETER KILLACKEY CONVICT - HUGH HUGHES FIRST FLEET TRANSPORTEE b. 1761 - d. 1830 Hugh was tried at Southwark in Surrey on the 16th of February 1785, for stealing lead from a building. Hugh was sentenced to transportation for 7 years. He left England with the first fleet on board the Alexander. Hugh's occupation was wheelwright.
