RESEARCHED BY PETER KILLACKEY CONVICT - RICHARD CLEUGH/CLOUGH/CLUGH FIRST FLEET TRANSPORTEE b. 1761 - d. 1793 Richard was tried at Durham criminal courts in Durham on the 19th of July 1785, for stealing 470 shillings. Richard was sentenced to death which was commuted to transportation for 7 years. He left England with the first fleet on board the Alexander. Richard's occupation was not recorded. Partners in the original crime were John Stokoe and George Sharp.
