At 12 years old he was tried at the Old Bailey in London on 15th of September 1784 for assault and highway robbery with a value of 5 shillings. Originally sentenced to death, it was commuted to transportation for 7 years. He left England on the Alexander aged about 15 years old.
He had no occupation recorded.
On 12 June 1790 sentenced to receive 200 lashes for theft of sugar.
