Thomas was tried at Durham in the County of Durham on the 21st of July 1785, for stealing livestock worth 40 shillings (1 horse). Thomas was sentenced to death which was commuted to transportation for 7 years. He left England with the first fleet on board the Alexander. Thomas's occupation was not recorded.
