William was tried at Bristol in Gloucestershire on the 4th of August 1783, for unknown reasons.
William was sentenced to transportation for 7 years. He left England with the first fleet on board the Alexander.
William's occupation was not recorded.
On the 23rd of August, William was sentenced to receive 100 lashes for neglect of duty, although his time had expired, he could not bear more than 59.
On the 17th of October 1791, he received 50 lashes for escaping into the surrounding bush for a week.
