Official launch of Naidoc week 2009
 NAIDOC Week festivities will kick off at 10:30am on Monday in the Library Gardens, with the official launch of celebrations by Greater Bendigo Mayor Cr Kevin Gibbins and Jaara Elder Uncle Brien Nelson and a special Flag Raising Ceremony.NAIDOC Week runs from July 5 to 12 and is an opportunity for all Australians to acknowledge the important contribution the Indigenous community has made to shaping the nation.The Bendigo NAIDOC Committee has organised an exciting program of cultural activities and performances to celebrate the week.Copies of the NAIDOC program can be obtained from the City of Greater Bendigo office in Lyttleton Terrace, the Bendigo Visitor Information Centre, Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative and the Bendigo Library and on the City of Greater Bendigo website. |
