| Can you imagine we could record moving pictures before we knew how to record sound? In fact, some of the first movies were made to be shown in picture theatres with an accompanying piano player that was hired to create his own soundtrack. Often this was made up on the spot and was different with each screening. Many of these silent movies had a pianist soundtrack added to them in later years and kept for posterity and educational purposes. |
