Flat Green (lawn) Bowls - Delivering The Jack.
The Player To Bowl First Begins By Delivering The Jack. For a delivery to be valid the jack must travel at least 21 metres from the mat.

After delivery, the jack is centred in the rink: if the jack stops less than 2 metres from the ditch it is centred 2 metres from the ditch.

If the jack is improperly delivered, an opponent may move the mat in the line of play and deliver the jack, but he must not bowl. If the jack is improperly delivered for a second time, the back edge of the mat must be placed 1.2 metres from from the rear ditch and no further movement of the mat is permitted until completion of the end.
