Action Plan for Australian Birds 2000
The threatened species of Powerful Owl and its main prey items, the Common ringtail Possum and Brush-tail Possum can sometimes be spotted near Large Old Trees which, unfortunately have become rare in Box-ironbark forests.
The forests also support Victoria’s only known populations of Pink-tailed Worm-Lizard and other endangered fauna species including Brush-tail Phascogale and Common Dunart which, despite its name is also listed as on Victoria’s Threatened species list.
