Historic Alexandra Fountain
Built in honor of and named after Alexandra, Princess of Wales, & daughter in-law of Queen Victoria.
The foundations of Alexander fountain go down 13ft into the ground to support its enormous 20 ton Harcourt Granite construction.
Goddess figures were made in Melbourne by Mr E Temper
Fence & lamps were made at the Victorian Foundry of Abraham Harkness

Plumbing was done by a local firm, headed by Mr T. J. Connelly
Opened by Albert & George, the two sons of Alexander on July, 5th, 1881
Alexandra Fountain was built on the banks of Bendigo Creek which is now diverted beneath the roadway
