| The name Rifle Brigade was originally derived from the Corps of Riflemen whose barracks were situated opposite the hotel where the present day Art Gallery is now situated.
An earlier single storey wooden hotel on this site was replaced in 1887 by the present hotel (featured on the wall in the fire lounge). The balcony and verandah were a later addition. |
There are many historical photographs and memorabilia displayed through the hotel of the Rifle Brigade and Bendigo.
Purchased in 1986 the interior of the hotel was completely refurbished and the micro brewery added. The present owners took over in the early 1990's. |
